Techniques
Here are the standard abbreviations I use in my patterns and some links to some online knitting tutorials and resources. If you find that any of these links are broken, or you have a suggestion to share, please contact me.
The Basics
k - knit
p - purl
sl - slip
Knitting in the round tutorial here from the Purl Bee.
i-cord - a knitted tube made without turning. knit one row, slide all stitches to the other end of the needle, bring yarn behind work, and knit the stitches again. Tutorial here from the Purl Bee.

CO - cast on
backwards loop cast-on
disappearing loop cast-on

provisional cast-on
provisional crochet cast-on

Increases
kfb - knit into the front and back of a stitch

yo - yarn over.
m1L - using the needle in your left hand, pick up the stitch two bumps below the one just worked and knit it.
m1R - using the needle in your right hand, pick up the stitch one bump below the next stitch and knit it.
Decreases
k2tog - knit 2 together
SSK - slip 2 stitches separately as if to knit, then knit these 2 stitches together

sl2-k1-p2sso - Slip 2 stitches together as if to knit 2 together. Knit the next stitch. Pass the 2 slipped stitches over the knit stitch.
